It is important that you remember that content can make or break your website. Focus on publishing on the highest quality content, even if it takes days to write, it will be worth it. There is too much junk floating around on the internet and people will appreciate a highly informative article. They will share it on social media, Google will hear about the buzz, and it will rank your website higher. Creating a website is easy but creating a website that people will visit on a regular basis is a different story. It all comes down to the type of content that you publish on your website. I’m sure that you are already aware of the need to publish high-quality content on your website, but it can be a little confusing to figure out what exactly “high-quality content” means.
Don’t worry; I’m going to walk you through the basics of content creation and how to optimize your content for search engine results. Once you are done reading this article, you will be armed with all the information that you need to start publishing excellent articles which will be spread far and wide on the internet. But first, let’s start with the basics.
What About “Quality Content” – What Does It Even Mean?
Quality content is content that people either find interesting or entertaining. That is pretty much what it all comes down to. Did you ever visit a website that specializes in funny pictures? That’s quality content – because funny pictures are entertaining. Remember also that website registration is useful but it has to be set very low.
But, if you don’t feel like scavenging the internet for hilarious pictures, it might be easier to write quality content. In other words, write articles that either entertain someone or teach them something new. Ideally, it should be entertaining and informative.
So now that you know what the phrase “quality content” means, we can start with the basics on how to create excellent articles.
How to Write a Compelling Article
Let’s be honest, not everyone is a natural writer. If you want to boost your capabilities, perhaps upgrading your education through a distance learning or online program is a good option. Some people can throw a few sentences together but it takes an incredible amount of effort for them to write an entire article. However, it is not as difficult as it may seem. In this section, we are going to discuss how to write a compelling article.
(1) Create the format.
It is incredibly easy to create a format for an article. Once you create the format it will be much easier for you to transition to the next topic in the article. Below is one of the most common formats for basic articles.
- Point A.
- Point B
- Point C
The introduction will be the section that introduces the article and explains what the article is going to be about. It makes sense to write this section first but sometimes it can be easier to write it once you finish the rest of the article.
Feel free to fall back and add sentences to the introduction. The body is the largest section of the article and it will be the section which contains the main points of the article. In order to make it easier to transition between points, it would be a good idea to include sub-points. The conclusion is the section of the article where all the main points are summarized. It’s the end of the article.
It’s really not difficult to write an article once a detailed format is created. Most people are taught how to create outlines in elementary school, it shouldn’t be a problem. If you work from home, please make sure that you’ll avoid distractions as much as you can.
(2) Conduct Research.
Don’t just grab information from the first result on Google regarding the subject of your article. It is important to gather information from as many different sources as possible. Make sure that you thoroughly understand the subject before you begin writing. It would also be a good idea to quote your sources of information.
Most research nowadays can be done online but there are some rare occasions where finding the right information is difficult. In which case, heading to a library and reading some books on the subject should provide you with the information that you need to carry on. Fill in your outline with research points and you’ll see that your new online business will take off thanks to the good content!
(3) Conduct Keyword Research.
When it comes to working online keyword research is incredibly important. But there has been a lot of debate regarding the keyword density. Some people claim that it is vital to rank in Google while other people claim that it is not necessary. I think there is a middle ground. I think it is important to include the keyword a few times in the body of the article and at least once in the title.
I don’t think it is important to obsess too much about keyword density – don’t try to create a keyword density of like 10% because that’s just keyword stuffing. It can be difficult to find decent keywords without a good keyword research tool. Don’t start writing until you have a list of keywords that have a good amount of searches every month.
(4) Write the article.
Once you have the outline with all of your research in place and the proper keywords, it’s time to start writing the article. It should not be a problem to write the article because everything you need is in place. Simply follow the outline that you created and it should be a breeze. If you are having trouble, consider hiring a writer to finish the article. See also this post about the Vocational Education Act of 1963.
(5) Polish the article.
Read through the article and keep an eye out for spelling mistakes and sentences that don’t sound correct. I think it is a good idea to proofread the article at least twice before submitting it. When in doubt, hire a proofreader.
Learning how to write an article takes time but eventually, it will become second nature.
